2-3 Room at Ash Tree Day Nursery, Blacon
Our dedicated room for toddlers is designed for children aged 2-3 years.
The room offers a free-flowing environment that emphasises education and development through fun, creative, and imaginative play. Activities focus on learning the days of the week, weather, numbers, and colours.
Toddlers have direct access to a private outdoor play zone and can extensively use the outdoor facilities.
Inside the warm and friendly 2-3s room, toddlers can engage in activities in the popular art area, as well as rest in the quiet sleeping area.
As with all children at Ash Tree, toddlers receive nutritious, home-cooked meals and are supported in using cutlery and learning table manners.
In our 2-3s room, your child’s Key Worker will observe their development, ensuring the learning environment aligns with the Early Years Foundation Stage. This ensures they receive the best possible start to their education during their 12 months in the toddler setting.
Funded Childcare for Children Aged 9 Months and Over
Additional childcare funding is now available for working families with eligible children aged 9 months and over now entitled to up to 30 hours of funded childcare per week!

Similar to the 0-2 room, our fully qualified staff will document your child’s learning journey through our Nursery management platform, Famly.
When staff and senior members feel your child is ready to transition to Pre School, they will discuss it with you. Your child will be invited to participate in a series of supported visits with their key worker to ease the final transition into preschool.
In our 2-3 room, there are two types of funding available, the 2-year Early Learning Funding which is up to 15 hours of funded childcare per week and Working Family funding which is up to 30 hours of funded childcare per week.
